In 2004 Alex teamed up with the Arthritis Research Campaign to create a garden for the Chelsea Flower Show in order to raise awareness of arthritis in young people. Alex himself was diagnosed with re-active arthritis at just 26.

Alex and arc returned to Chelsea in 2006 with another garden then a few weeks later they took the garden with alternative planting up to Birmingham for the Gardeners World live show.
